With reference to the letter from this

Department of the 16th September, 1937, I am directed

by Mr. Secretary MacDonald to transmit to you, to be

laid before Viscount Halifax, a copy of a despatch

from the Governor of Hong Kong forwarding a statement

of arms and ammunitions which passed through the

Colony in transit to China during the second half of

1937.

2. As no additional copies of the enclosure in

the Governor's despatch are available in the Colonial

office the Secretary of State would be obliged if the

copy which is enclosed could be forwarded to the

Board of Trade after perusal in the Foreign Office.
